Successful comeback
Live and on-site with more than 4,000 visitors!
Last month there were still doubts as to whether the large congresses in autumn could take place as hoped, with actual visitors and with the planned number of people. Last week we welcomed more than 4,000 participants and exhibitors at two German locations. We organised and supervised the largest national congresses currently being held as face-to-face events. What a comeback!
And what should we say: It was just a great feeling to be on on-site again! A young colleague, who has not yet been on a regular face-to-face congress, came back beaming with the words: "It was cool. The participants were really into the whole event!" That's exactly how it should be!
The operating conditions are challenging for all participants: admission rules, 3G checks and hygiene concepts are part of the organisational work. During the preparation period, we asked ourselves repeatedly: "Are congresses still enjoyable like this?" How will visitors and industry representatives cope with the rules? What new challenges will the entire congress team face? Admittedly, we started this season a little bit nervously.
Now that the events have run smoothly and the congress visitors have enjoyed their further education and the face-to-face meetings with colleagues on site, we can say: Yes! Congresses are fun and it is possible to meet safely on site!
Dealing with the pandemic-related requirements is becoming more and more routine for both participants and organisers alike. The on-site routing and hygiene concepts work.
At the congress centres in Stuttgart and Leipzig, enthusiasm about the return to face-to-face events was tangible. But also the digital opportunity to participate is still attractive. A large number of the participating medical professionals took advantage of the virtual programme.
We are pleased with and proud of the successful comeback in Stuttgart and Leipzig. We are also impressed by the commitment demonstrated by our team, partners and, of course, our customers. Jointly, we successfully brought people together once again. People who require this interaction to be able to meet medical challenges even more effectively.
We will be using the final quarter of the year to develop further ideas for congress management from the experience we gained during these days. Innovative ideas that we need for master the changes in the congress and event world of the future.
