It is with great sadness that we acknolwedge the death of the Chairman of our Supervisory Board, Gideon Rivlin, who passed away on January 9th after a long illness.
Gideon Rivlin not only founded the Kenes Group in 1965, but was also one of the founding fathers of the International Association of Professional Congress Organisers (IAPCO) which he led as its President from 1981 - 1983. He is considered to be one of the pioneers and visionaries of our industry and enjoyed global recognition in our field of professional congress organisation. Throughout his career, he received several international honours including an award from the International Congress and Convention Association (ICCA) in 2006 in recognition of his vision, commitment and life's work. His passion and ideas set the course for generations of PCOs to come.
Kenes Group and Interplan have partnered since 2002 and in 2004, Gideon became Chairman of the Interplan Supervisory Board, generously contributing his experience and advice. His style of collaboration was founded on friendly interaction and partnership - a style he propagated in his own company.
His passing leaves a void and our thoughts and condolences go out to his family at this time. The legacy he leaves behind will keep him always in our memories.
